Casablanca Gaming Expo: The First Moroccan Video Game Exhibition

Casablanca will host from March 27th to 29th the Moroccan Video Games Exhibition: “Casablanca Gaming Expo”, which will take place at the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche.

Co-organized by the Moroccan agency Willy & Willy and the GG Agency specialized in e-sport and gaming events, this show for the general public offers a variety of experiences that brings together the entire ecosystem and is intended to reflect the image of the video game: plural, cultural, educational, innovative and unifying.

The first edition of the Moroccan video game show, Casablanca Gaming Expo, comes to support a sector which is perpetually booming. With more than three million active Moroccan gamers and a turnover exceeding 840 million dirhams (turnover of the gaming industry in Morocco for the year 2017), Morocco is today a real hub in video games.

Promoting the sector, entertaining youth, creating vocations, creating new opportunities, Casablanca Gaming Expo is a platform to federate the ecosystem of Moroccan and African gaming.

“The idea of the show was born following a study we conducted around the consumption of video games in Morocco and Africa. Today, the market offers attractive prospects,” underlines Karim Moubarik, Managing Director of GG Agency. Our objective is to create a strong relationship between the different players in the field: developers, players, creators and brands, in order to make the potential of the local market known at national, continental and international level, but also to raise awareness among public authorities about the importance of this market and the growing interest of Moroccans in it”.

For its first edition, the show offers an exceptional stage dedicated to games and new technologies. During three days, over an area of more than 1500 m2, Casablanca Gaming Expo will offer a unique stage that will bring together a growing community in a space for exchange, sharing and competition: different communities of Moroccan gamers (PC, console and mobile games), game creators and developers, media and influencers, national and international companies, as well as Moroccan and African startups.

With a variety of animations, keynotes and presentations of innovations, three major competitions will be on the program during the three days, in the presence of high-level Moroccan and African gamers.
