SM Caen announced this Wednesday the signature of Ayoub Jabbari, a 20-year-old striker totally unknown in Europe. The former AS Far (Morocco) player has signed a professional contract until 2023 with Stade Malherbe. He will initially start playing with the reserve team, in National 3.
He had been spotted by one of SM Caen’s coaches, Djibi Diao, during a friendly match with the Chartres jersey, where he was on trial at the beginning of the season. A few months later, here is the Moroccan Ayoub Jabbari officially a professional player of Stade Malherbe, after spending a few weeks at the training center of Venoix and having convinced the Norman club. The 20-year-old striker, who will initially play for the reserve team in National 3, has had no previous experience of playing in Europe.
With him, SM Caen makes a bet and hopes that Caen will be able to win next summer, in order to have a chance to play in League 2 during the 2020-2021 season. “It’s a rather unusual player profile that we don’t have at all at home,” explained sports director Yohan Eudeline on the club’s website, referring to the former AS Far (Morocco) striker, who is described as powerful.
