Coronavirus in Morocco: No Sports Events until the End of March

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has announced a set of precautionary measures, in execution of the emergency government decisions aimed at dealing with the exceptional situation related to the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus throughout the national territory.

In a press release, the Ministry indicates that it has been decided, within the framework of these measures, to ban, from this Thursday and until the end of March, all events in which individuals from abroad participate, including conferences and cultural and sports events, and to ban all events in which more than 1,000 persons residing on national territory participate, if these events are held in closed or specific places.

These measures also include a ban on all festivals, except Moussems, the statement said, specifying that national sporting events are permitted, as well as the holding of closed-door meetings between national sports teams and their foreign counterparts.
