Dortmund Prepare for Hakimi’s Replacement

It seems that Ashraf Hakimi is living his last months in Dortmund. The German club are looking for a replacement for the full-back who belongs to Real Madrid.

Will Ashraf Hakim return to Real Madrid at the end of this season? That’s what seems to be happening at the club where he has been playing for the last two years. The German club are looking for a replacement for the Moroccan right-back and have reportedly opted for Paris Saint-Germain’s Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier, Eurosport reported on Friday March 6, quoting a headline in the Belgian daily “La Dernière Heure.”

“Unless there is a last-minute turnaround in the situation, the Belgian right-back, who arrived at the 2016 French champions from Bruges, should not extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain,” the French sports channel’s website reports. The French sports channel also said that Thomas Meunier would have refused to extend his contract with PSG, preferring instead to join Borussia, the club against whom PSG will play in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, without the presence of Thomas Meunier, who has been suspended due to his accumulated carding record.

Contacts between the Belgian international and BVB’s management have reportedly already been established, while the club’s Swiss coach Lucien Favre would particularly appreciate the right-back’s profile and believes he could easily fit into the German club’s playing system.
