Mounir Chouiar: The Franco-Moroccan Is Away for a Month

After suffering from an ankle sprain, Mounir Chouiar will be absent for a month, as his coach Stéphane Jobard announced on Thursday before the 27th round of Ligue 1 games against PSG. A big blow for the player and Dijon, the Burgundian club being in the midst of a struggle to maintain its position.

In a press conference, Stéphane Jobard spoke about the injury of the Franco-Moroccan striker. “We know that we’re going to be running a lot and that we’ll have to reduce the gaps in the field. We’ll also have to perform well while the other team has the ball. I’d like us to be bold and play. If we do this, it will be good for the rest of the game,” said the Dijon coach.

Eight goals and two assists in 28 matches in all competitions. This season Mounir Chouiar is doing great things with Dijon. The former Lensois, who arrived at the DFCO this summer, has quickly found his feet in his new formation. However, the 21-year-old, who scored a goal against PSG in the French Cup quarter-finals and a brace against Bordeaux recently in Ligue 1, will miss several weeks of competition. The DFCO are in seventeenth place and have the same number of points (27) as Nimes Olympique, the first relegated team.
