Bill 22.20: Minister of Justice Asks for Postponement

The Minister of Justice Mohamed Ben Abdelkader affirmed, on Sunday, that he had asked for the postponement of the consideration of Bill 22.20 on the use of social networks up until the end of the current period and to hold consultations with the stakeholders involved.

” With regard to the particular circumstances that the country is going through as a result of a state of health emergency, I am asking the Head of Government and the members of the competent ministerial commission to delay the work on Bill 22.20 until the end of the current period and also to hold the necessary consultations with relevant stakeholders,” the minister said.

According to him, this approach “stems from our concern to ensure that the final version of the bill is in line with the constitutional principles and that it can further enhance our country’s human rights situation”.
