Clothing Stores Become Overcrowded After the Reopening

An overwhelming number of Casablanca residents flocked to clothing stores, particularly in the Maarif and Green March areas, just after they reopened on Thursday following the easing of health emergency measures.

Indeed, long lines have formed in front of shops such as “Zara” or “Aldo”, especially since, under preventive measures imposed by the state, only a small number of customers must be inside the shops where a number of rules such as distancing must be respected.

Residents of Casablanca, although classified in zone 2 where the spread of the epidemic is still not under control, have flocked to these shops to buy clothes and accessories in large quantities, to the point that some customers’ bills have exceeded 8000 Dirhams, despite the fact that it is still forbidden to go out and that beaches, cafes, restaurants, and theaters are still closed because of the pandemic.

It should be recalled that the government extended last Wednesday, for the third consecutive time the state of health emergency in Morocco until July 10, but by easing the emergency measures in regions and provinces classified in zone 1, where the spread of the virus is under control.
