Morroco decided last March to suspend all international passenger flights to and from its territory to prevent the risk of spreading the Coronavirus.
While the Kingdom started on Thursday the 2nd phase of the progressive deconfinement, no date has yet been announced regarding the reopening of borders. This is what a government source told the Moroccan press, stressing that Morocco is a sovereign country and will decide on the date of resumption of its relations without the need to consult with other countries.
“The decision to reopen the borders depends on the international and local epidemiological situation. It also depends on the measures taken by countries, especially neighboring countries, to limit the risk of spreading the virus,” explains our source.
Morocco had suspended its flights to and from about 20 countries. The kingdom had then decided to close its borders as part of preventive measures to fight against Covid-19.
