Morocco: The Reason Why the Beaches Close at 6:00 PM

Since last Thursday’s transition to the second phase of progressive deconfinement, the authorities have imposed the closure of beaches from 6 p.m. onwards. According to a reliable source of the Moroccan press, the beaches are indeed emptied at this time, stressing that access is also prohibited to citizens wishing to go there to enjoy the sunset.

This decision was taken as part of preventive measures to reduce the risk of Covid-19. Our source also said that the equestrian police and motorcyclists are in charge of evacuating the beaches as well as explaining the reasons for this decision to summer visitors.

It should be remembered that last weekend, the beaches of Morocco were very busy. After three months of confinement, Moroccans did not hesitate to go there to enjoy the sun and have a good time.
