To mark the occasion of Throne Day, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has granted pardons to 1,446 people, some of whom are in detention. He has also pardoned those who have been convicted by various courts in the Kingdom, according to a statement by the Ministry of Justice.
Here is the full statement of the Ministry of Justice:
“On the occasion of this year’s Throne Day, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has granted his pardon to a group of people convicted by various courts in the Kingdom. These individuals, consisting of 1,446 persons, are as follows:
* The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are in detention are 1,267 detainees and are as follows:
– Pardon on the remaining sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 323 prisoners.
– Cancellation of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 940 prisoners.
– The death penalty was changed to life imprisonment for the benefit of 2 prisoners.
– The life sentence was changed to a time sentence for 2 prisoners.
* The number of beneficiaries of Royal Pardon who are at liberty is 179, divided as follows:
– Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for the benefit of 39 people.
– Pardon on the sentence of imprisonment with maintenance of the fine for the benefit of 08 people.
– Pardon on the penalty of a fine for the benefit of 120 people.
– Pardon on the penalty of imprisonment and fine for the benefit of 10 people.
– Pardon on the remainder of the prison sentence and fine for the benefit of 02 people.
