Saudi-Moroccan Relations Stronger than Ever

This Wednesday in Rabat, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Bin Abdellah Al-Saoud, highlighted the common views between Morocco and Saudi Arabia on the challenges that face the Arab world, especially foreign interference and terrorism.

During a press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that such challenges require collective coordination and cooperation to overcome, while at the same time ensuring that the foundations of peace and security throughout the region are established.

In addition, the head of Saudi diplomacy expressed his country’s concern about the situation in Libya regarding foreign interference and the impact of such interference on security in the Arab world, particularly Libya’s neighboring countries. He stressed, in this regard, that his country tends to be supportive in every way to find a solution to this crisis.

“A 100% Libyan solution is a belief of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Arab countries,” he added, stressing that Arab coordination to achieve this goal is a priority for his country in order to put an end to foreign interventions and the ongoing conflict in that country. It is also a priority in order to “preserve Libya and the Libyan people from the effects of terrorism, conflict and external interventions and greed”.

As for his discussion with his Moroccan counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that they were “focused on various aspects of the close relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the framework of a solid and historical friendship”.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan also expressed the common will to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries through a permanent coordination in all fields. According to him, this coordination “will serve the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, in accordance with the instructions of the leaders of the two countries”.

In this regard, he mentioned several areas of cooperation and consultation that should be taken advantage of and several conventions that should be activated in order to take bilateral relations to a higher level.
