Abdellah El Bidaoui is one of the most important “Chikhs” and pioneers of “Aita”. He is known for his mastery of the “Aita Mersaouiya” which the people of Casablanca adored and sang in their weddings and ceremonies.
Abdellah El Bidaoui was born in Casablanca in 1949. He was the student of the famous Pop artist “Bouchaib El Bidaoui” and was part of his group in 1985, which was the year that marked the beginning of his career. He then joined Marshal Kibou’s group, touring around different countries and presenting several artistic and creative works. In just a few years, Abdellah El Bidaoui became one of the most important voices of the “Ouyout” and also a recognized artistic reference in the world of “Tamachikht”, especially after the release of his first album entitled “Wllah Ma’araftou” and the formation of his group which bore his own name.
El Bidaoui had several famous songs that were played by Moroccans in all their celebrations for years. These included “Idirha Lkass a Abbas”, “Houb Reman”, “Khlini Nseref Mektoubi”, in addition to the famous melodies of the Aita, especially “Kherboucha Menana”, which the deceased played brilliantly in his melodious voice.
El Bidaoui lived in France for many years and worked in the biggest nightclubs in Paris. He also performed in several parties in many French and European cities for the Maghreb community living there. His children and his family then joined him to study and obtain their diplomas, far from the world of Moroccan Pop art and the “Aita”.
The deceased was humble, generous and loved by the people. He loved his job and remained faithful to it until his last breath, even after his return to Morocco, where he settled and worked in several famous nightclubs. Despite his age, his voice remained resounding.
Abdellah El Bidaoui was mysteriously killed in his house in Mohammedia. Investigations led to the arrest of his driver, whom he was close to and who killed him with the aim of robbing him. His tragic death broke the hearts of his family, fans, friends, colleagues and audience who lost an icon of Pop Music.
