The director Sanaa Hamri is about to shoot a new series whose events revolve around the character Cookie. This character is played by the actress Taraji Henson in the famous series Empire, which was also directed by Hamri and was a great success in the United States.
The new series produced by Twentieth Century Fox will revolve around the character who was loved by everyone during the six seasons of the series, for which Taraji won a Golden Globe and was nominated three times for an Emmy.
The Moroccan-born American director expressed her joy and excitement to begin a new project with American actress Taraji Henson, who has been chosen by Twentieth Century Fox for this new series. Indeed, Sanaa said in an interview with Moroccan Jewish Times: “Taraji is an icon and a wonderful actress and I am very happy to continue to have the privilege of working with her. As for Cookie’s personality, she is very fascinating. Every woman has a little piece of Cookie in her, and we are going to have new adventures with her, so I invite you to watch the upcoming series on television”.
Sanae Hamri was born in Tangier in 1975. She is currently working on a new series whose main character is Katie Holmes who will play the role of an FBI agent.
This talented director, based in Los Angeles, is working on another television series called “Ya Bent”, which is about three American friends of Arab origin named Maya, Jomana and Lara. They move from their traditional culture which limits women’s freedom to live in Los Angeles, a city that is freer and more modern and therefore clash with this difference.
A graduate of the Sarah Lawrence Institute, Sanaa Hamri began her career in the field of filming and directing music videos. She has collaborated with big stars such as Mariah Carey, Destiny Child, Prince, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Nicki Minaj and Lenny Kravitz. She then entered the world of film and television directing, where she participated in the direction of a number of episodes of the Desperate Housewives series.
