The Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday, 3508 new cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 4902 cases cured and 69 deaths in the previous 24 hours.
The ministry explained in its epidemiological assessment of Covid-19 that the new report has brought the total number of infected cases in the Kingdom to 359,844 cases since the announcement of the first case on March 2. Meanwhile, the total number of cases cured reached 310,193, with a cure rate of 86.2%. While the number of deaths increased to 5915, maintaining the case-fatality rate at 1.6%.
The cases recorded in the previous 24 hours are distributed as follows: Casablanca-Settat (1287), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (606), Souss-Massa (413), Tangier-Tetouan-Hoceima (355), Marrakech-Safi (258), L’Oriental (179), Guelmim-Oued Noun (93), Laayoun-Sakia Lhamra (78), Fez-Meknes (77), Draa-Tafilalet (71), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (64) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (27).
As regards to the number of deaths, the ministry’s report recorded 13 cases in the Casablanca-Settat region, 11 in Souss-Massa, 7 each in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Tangier-Tétouan-Hoceima, and the Oriental region, 5 in each of Marrakech-Safi, Laayoun-Sakia Lhamra and Fez-Meknes, 4 in Guelmim-Oued Noun, 3 in Draa-Tafilalet, and 2 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra, without registering any cases in the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.
According to the balance sheet, the cumulative infection index in Morocco is about 991 for every 100,000 inhabitants, i. e. 9.7 for every 100,000 inhabitants in the previous 24 hours, with the exception of 17,377 unreported cases. Thus, the rate of unreached cases is 3 million 614 thousand 941, while the total number of positive cases currently being treated is 43,736.
The number of serious cases in the intensive care and resuscitation unit recorded in the previous 24 hours is 116 cases, raising the total number of cases to 1036, of which 88 under artificial ventilation and 520 under spontaneous ventilation.
