An international colloquium on the theme “The devices, uses and prospects of digital media in the language classroom” will take place on 18 and 19 March next, at the initiative of the École normale supérieure de Meknès-Toulal. Organised in partnership with the French Institute and the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Fès-Meknès, this meeting proposes to highlight the various uses of digital media in the language classroom, as well as the specificities of the challenges and contributions of this specific medium.
“The pitfalls and limits of the use of digital media should be approached according to the contexts, the systems designed and the practices implemented, both in the construction of learners’ learning in a school context, and in situations relating to university pedagogy or vocational training”, says a note presenting the conference.
It is also a question of demonstrating, it is added from the same source, how a reflection on digital media in schools, universities or training centres could provide information on the conditions for language learning in the 21st century, representations of teaching and training professions and conceptions of educational policy in a given context.
The work of this meeting will focus on three areas, namely “Digital media in language and culture teaching”, “Digital media and strategies for learning in language classrooms” and “Digital media and teacher training”.
