Rabat: Mohammed V National Theatre suspends its activities

The Mohammed V National Theatre has decided to suspend all its activities in view of the increase in cases of infection with the new coronavirus, and in accordance with government decisions.

“In view of the increase in cases of contamination by the virus and in accordance with the decisions taken on Monday 2 August by the government, the Mohammed V Theatre institution has decided to suspend all its activities,” it said in a statement published on its website.

This suspension, it is specified, will last “until the epidemiological situation improves and life returns to normal”.

The government had taken a series of measures from Tuesday 03 August, based on the recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Commission on the need to strengthen preventive measures to limit the spread of the pandemic and preserve the health of citizens.

These include a nationwide ban on night-time travel from 9pm to 5am, and a ban on travel to and from the cities of Casablanca, Marrakech and Agadir.
