Morocco reaches 19 million people fully vaccinated against Covid

A total of 1,098 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 1,608 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Thursday.

The number of first-time vaccinations has reached 22,632,510. In contrast, the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has now reached 19,069,557, the ministry said in its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation Covid-19.

The new toll of positive cases has brought the total number of infections since the first reported in Morocco in March 2020 to 933,071. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 906,160, representing a recovery rate of 97.1%.

Infections were recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (400), Casablanca-Settat (391), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (76), Oriental (67), Marrakech-Safi (33), Souss-Massa (29), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (25), Fès-Meknès (21), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (19), Draâ-Tafilalet (17), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (16) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (4).

As for deaths, their total number rose to 14,267 (lethality 1.5%), with 19 new cases recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9), Marrakech-Safi (3), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (2), Souss-Massa (2), Béni Mellal-Khénitra (2) and Fès-Meknès (1).

Active cases numbered 12,644, while severe or critical cases numbered 876, including 36 under intubation.
