The start of the school year will take place on Friday, October 1, in a face-to-face mode in all schools and universities, vocational training institutes of the public and private sectors and foreign mission schools, the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Thursday.
This decision comes after the successful completion of the vaccination campaign of 12-17 years and young people over 18 years, and the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, said the ministry in a statement, emphasizing the possibility of opting for distance learning for families of students who express the desire.
In addition, and to ensure the health safety of learners, teachers, educational and administrative staff, the Ministry of National Education has updated the health protocol in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This protocol will be adopted in all schools, universities, public and private vocational training institutes, and schools of foreign missions, the statement added, noting that this document will be available on the official portals of the ministry.
The ministry also stressed the need to respect sanitary measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic, including wearing protective masks, ventilation of spaces, regular disinfection of hands, and respect for social distancing.
He also praised the efforts made by all academic and administrative staff for the success of the start of the school year 2021-2022, calling on students and their families to continue to commit to the promotion of the education system, especially in the particular situation that the country is experiencing.
