After the Israeli companies, it is the turn of Royal Air Maroc to launch soon a direct flight linking Casablanca to Tel Aviv. It is in this perspective that the national company has joined forces with the Israeli airline EL AL.
RAM and El AL have, in fact, signed a cooperation protocol (MoU), on the sidelines of the 77th General Assembly of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), held from 3 to 5 October in Boston in the United States, the Moroccan carrier said in a statement. The protocol aims “to govern their relationship in order to offer the best services to their customers,” says the two partners.
In this sense and “as soon as the general conditions allow it”, RAM will launch a flight from Mohammed V airport in Casablanca to Ben Gourion international airport in Tel Aviv.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding will allow the two companies to explore the possibility of concluding a “Codeshare” partnership on direct routes operated between Morocco and Israel, as well as on the routes of their networks beyond their respective hubs, concludes the statement. Dates and prices have not yet been disclosed by the Moroccan company.
As a reminder, Israeli air carriers Israir and El-Al launched direct commercial routes between Israel and Morocco on Sunday 25 July, seven months after the normalisation of relations between the two countries.
