Covid-19 in Morocco: more than 3 million people have received three doses of the vaccine

A total of 1,357 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 550 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Sunday.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry noted that the number of people who received their first vaccination reached 24,560,942, that of those who received two doses amounted to 22,934,272, while 3,005,363 people received three injections.

The new infection toll brings the total number of infections since the first case was reported in Morocco in March 2020 to 966,777, while the number of people who have recovered has risen to 941,558, representing a recovery rate of 97.4%.

The new cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (661), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (434), Marrakech-Safi (155), Souss-Massa (45), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (23), Fès-Meknès (19), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (10), l’Oriental (7), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (2) and Draâ-Tafilalet (1).

The total number of deaths rose to 14,855 (case fatality 1.5%), with 4 new cases recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (3) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1).

There were 10,364 active cases and 19 new severe or critical cases were recorded in 24 hours, for a total of 150, including 6 under intubation. The occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds is 2.9%.
