The Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy, Fatima-Zahra Ammor, committed herself, on Tuesday, to integrate the tourist restaurant owners in the emergency measures put in place for the tourist sector.
At the end of a working meeting held with the grouping of regional associations of tourist restaurants, Ammor undertook to “integrate the tourist restaurants in the most suitable measures among the arsenal of measures which will benefit the tourism sector”, indicates a press release of the ministry.
Several of these measures will be operationalised as soon as possible, the same source said. During this working meeting, the representatives of the sector reported the critical situation of the sector since the closure of the borders, the press release said, noting that Mrs Ammor, for her part, reiterated “her resolute commitment” to support the tourist restaurant owners in the current context. A series of emergency measures were also discussed, notably on the social, fiscal and banking aspects.
“The minister concluded by encouraging operators to work in a collaborative approach with the ministry to improve the legal framework governing classified restaurants,” the statement said, noting that this project will enable restaurant owners to better meet the new expectations of national and international tourists.
