Discipline: Pupils now banned from filming in Moroccan schools

The Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports now prohibits students from taking photos, filming and broadcasting recordings of people without their knowledge in schools.

The decision of Chakib Benmoussa’s department comes after several videos showing acts of violence and incivism in classrooms were posted on social networks in recent days.

The Ministry has mobilised its provincial directorates to conduct a campaign to raise awareness among students of the risks of publishing such videos, particularly with regard to the invasion of privacy of the persons filmed, and the legal consequences of such acts.

The provincial directorates will have the task of instilling legal culture in the students, and particularly Law 09/08 on the protection of individuals in the processing of personal data, as well as Law 13-88 on the press and publishing.
