Moroccan team: only one case of Covid-19 before the match against Malawi

The midfielder of the Moroccan national team, Fayçal Fajr, is the only positive case of Covid-19 among the Atlas Lions, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said Sunday on its official website.

“In application of the medical protocol put in place by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) during the final phase of the 33rd edition of the CAN, the players of the national A team were tested for Covid-19 on Sunday 23 January 2022 in the morning before the match against Malawi,” the FRMF said. These tests were negative except for that of Fayçal Fajr who was subjected to the medical protocol in force after his positive test, adds the same source.

In addition, Achraf Hakimi, has carried out individual training at the hotel, a source of the FRMF told MAP, stressing that the PSG player is hardly a positive case.

The Atlas Lions held on Sunday in Yaounde, the penultimate training session before the round of 16 of the 33rd African Cup of Nations (CAN-2021), scheduled for Tuesday, against Malawi. This session was marked by the return of goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
