Open borders: here are the destinations affected by the resumption of flights

Tourists and Moroccans alike are looking forward to the resumption of flights on Monday 7 February. Here is a tour of the destinations that will be available to and from the Kingdom.

With the exception of Ryanair et EasyJetmost airlines operating in Morocco have announced that they will resume service as soon as the borders reopen. The more or less detailed schedules of the companies have been announced on their platforms.

The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM), which still operates (until 6 February) “special” flights, has announced that it will re-establish “all regular routes in its network” from 7 February. As a result, “the flight schedule will include direct flights linking Morocco to some fifty airports in Europe, Africa, America, the Middle East and Asia,” said a RAM press release.

The list of destinations is not detailed by the company, which nevertheless states that it will “strengthen its flight programme with a gradual increase in the number of frequencies and destinations”.

Air France has also opted for a gradual recovery. Although flights are scheduled for 7 February, ‘a return to the usual programme’ is only planned for the 14th of the same month, with 10 weekly flights. Thus, the French company will offer 4 daily flights to Casablanca, 3 to Marrakech and 3 to Rabat.

Immediately after the announcement by the Moroccan authorities, Transavia launched the marketing of flights to the kingdom. “From its bases in Paris-Orly, Nantes, Lyon and Montpellier, the company will serve 10 Moroccan airports: Agadir, Marrakech, Essaouira, Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Tangier, Nador, Oujda and Ouarzazate,” the specialised site said. From Paris-Orly :

From Nantes-Atlantique :

Spain’s Iberia will resume flights between Spain and Morocco on 7 February. Flights to and from Marrakech, Casablanca and Tangiers are marketed by the company. As for the regional airline Binter Canarias will connect Gran Canaria airport with Agadir, Laâyoune and Dakhla once a week.

Tui Fly will only resume its flight programme to Morocco from 17 February, with a total of no less than 15 destinations, according to the specialist website Air Journal.

As a reminder, the government has decided to reopen the airspace from 7 February 2022 to flights to and from Morocco. The conditions required for travellers have still not been revealed and are currently under study.
