A stampede and limited clashes took place on Sunday morning in the weekly souk Oulad Jelloul (Ben Mansour commune), in the province of Kenitra, local authorities said.
According to preliminary data, this souk experienced clashes following opportunistic behaviour and unusual speculation in the prices of certain consumer products practised by several intermediaries, which provoked acts of stone-throwing with the participation of minors.
Immediately, the local and public authorities intervened to restore order and deal with the attempts of speculators to sell products and goods.The competent authorities have opened an investigation with a view to taking the necessary measures against the offenders in accordance with the regulations in force.
