Who is Sanae Lahlou, UNIDO Country Representative in Morocco

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has announced the appointment of Sanae Lahlou as UNIDO Country Representative in Morocco. Sanae Lahlou will ensure the coordination, in the Kingdom, of the strategy of this UN agency, for the promotion of inclusive and sustainable industrial development through, in particular, the continued implementation of the UNIDO Country Partnership Programme in Morocco.

Sanae Lahlou has a long and rich experience in the management and implementation of several structuring economic programmes in the public and private sectors, in Morocco and internationally, some of which were related to industrial development issues. Before joining UNIDO, she was Director of the Africa Business Unit at Mazars Morocco.

Committed to the promotion of sustainable growth in developing economies, she also assisted several Moroccan industrial SMEs to position themselves in global value chains as International Director at the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE). Sanae has also held several positions of responsibility, in particular at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry as Africa and Middle East Advisor.

Sanae Lahlou has received several distinctions, one of the most recent being her nomination by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as one of the “Young Global Leaders” (YGL) 2021, the 100 young global leaders committed to building a better future through improving the socio-economic situation in the world. She was awarded the title of French African Young Leader in 2019 by the French-African Foundation and was also awarded the Leadership Excellence Economic Development and Global Impact Award by the Pan African Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Center.
