The collective of Moroccan students in Ukraine is born

In a press release, the coordination office of the collective of Moroccan students in Ukraine announces the creation of this new entity, whose objective is to defend the interests of these nationals who were forced to leave this country in Eastern Europe, following the Russian invasion.

According to the same communiqué, the collective of Moroccan students in Ukraine will have the task of ensuring the coordination process between these students and the ministry in charge and to facilitate and accelerate the process of their reintegration.Contacted by Moroccan media , the collective explained that the idea of creating this coordination came after this grouping held several meetings, which brought together many students from different specialities, to discuss solutions that could facilitate their reintegration into university.

It is in this context that the coordination office of this collective has put a form online for the attention of these students, in order to identify their fields of training and their levels of study. To date, more than 2,300 responses have been received.

The collective now wants to sit down with the Ministry of Higher Education to discuss further measures to facilitate the reintegration of students affected by the Ukrainian crisis into the university system.In a statement to the Moroccan press, the Ukrainian ambassador accredited to Morocco, Oksana Vasylieva, had estimated the total number of Moroccan students studying in her country at some 9,000.Abdellatif Miraoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, was keen to reassure all Moroccan students in Ukraine, stating that cases will be studied on a case-by-case basis and that all means will be mobilised to facilitate the reintegration of students affected by the Ukrainian crisis (additional language courses, etc).All Moroccan universities, all disciplines combined (medicine, engineering, etc.) will also be mobilised as part of this exceptional operation.Abdellatif Miraoui had also indicated that he had established contacts with the authorities of certain countries (Romania, etc.) with a view to encouraging local universities to welcome Moroccan students who, for one reason or another, were unable to return to the Kingdom.
