A rise in range is observed in the textile sector in Morocco both in terms of industry and creations, said Wednesday in El Jadida, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour.

In a statement on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 18th edition of the show Morocco in Fashion (MIM), initiated by the Moroccan Association of Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH), Mezzour said that the national textile sector is “in full mutation.

The Minister has, to this effect, highlighted the export activities of Moroccan collections around the world, including in the most advanced countries.

“Today we are proud to see that this sector has not only consolidated and regained its colors after the pandemic, but it is also expanding,” continued Mezzour.

In addition, the Minister said he was proud to participate in MIM, a fair designed in a sustainable manner, noting that this “prefigures the textile of today and tomorrow which is based on sustainability, recycling and respect for the environment.

A must-attend event for fashion and textile professionals, Maroc In Mode is renewed this year and expands its offer to all links in the textile and clothing chain, namely manufacturing, fabrics, home textiles, innovation and machinery as well as accessories and services. In order to bring a complete proposal, MIM also welcomes in the dedicated space MAROCUIR, representatives of the leather sector.

Thus, visitors will discover the 160 exhibitors from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, France, Italy, Spain and Uzbekistan, installed on an area of 3000m ² that covers the show. These 160 exhibitors cover several sectors namely, manufacturing, Fabrics, Home Textile, Innovation / Machinery, Accessories, Services and MAROCUIR.

As a true platform for professional meetings, MIM is committed to sustainability this year and places social, environmental, economic and temporal responsibility at the heart of its concerns. Thus, the show is placed under the theme DAYEM, in reference to one of the most important axes of the new vision presented a few months ago by AMITH.

Based on data collected by the association and its partners in the field, but also on the deep mutations that the sector has known during the last two years, DAYEM is presented as a transversal guide for all the actors of the textile sector in order to develop themselves in the respect of ethical and sustainable values.

In addition to the exhibition, MIM held on March 30 and 31 in El Jadida, organizes half a dozen conferences with international experts and speakers from different backgrounds, around the priority themes of the sector. The show also hosts areas trends or partnerships with cooperatives.
