Drug trafficking: Extradition to Morocco of a trafficker arrested in Sebta

In October 2020, the Court of First Instance of Nador issued an international arrest warrant for the suspect, according to the judicial decision relayed by the Spanish media El Faro.

The extradition was approved under the agreement in force between Spain and Morocco in June 2009. However, for the lawyers of the accused, the documents provided by the authorities of the neighboring country were “insufficient” because the international search and arrest warrant only mentions his nickname of drug trafficker.

The man was present in Sebta to try to escape police and judicial proceedings in Nador, where he was accused of participating in drug trafficking by jet-ski via Melilla and Beni Ensar.

In September 2020, three people were arrested and 21 kilograms of cocaine were seized. Through wiretaps, other participants in this movement were identified, and thus the last suspect.
