A Moroccan delegation in Prague

Morocco participated in the activities of the Czech Republic-Africa conference on health, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, with a delegation led by Abdelkrim Meziane Belfkih, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and the participation of the Moroccan ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hanan Saâdi, as part of the celebrations of the “Africa Day”.

According to a statement from the Ministry, Mr. Belfkih highlighted to the conference the Moroccan experience in managing the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the resilience of the health system by taking advantage of the proactive vision of HM King Mohammed VI.

On the sidelines of this event, initiated by the Czech Ministries of Foreign
Affairs and Health, on the occasion of Africa Day, the Moroccan delegation held meetings with a number of officials of the host country. These included the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Marian Jurecka, and the Deputy Minister of Health.

During the talks, the delegation reviewed the major projects launched in the health sector, while focusing on the prospects of bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them.

In addition, Mr. Meziane Belfkih met with the Minister of Health of Côte d’Ivoire to discuss bilateral cooperation, including social protection councils and promotion of the health system. He also met with the Ministers of Health of Senegal and Zambia.

During the day, the Moroccan delegation held several meetings with private Czech companies active in the field of health, including companies with knowledge of the Moroccan market. The Secretary General of the Ministry highlighted the potential and opportunities offered in terms of investment in this sector in full expansion thanks to the Royal High Directives.

The delegation also visited the military hospital in Prague.
