  • FFWS 2022 Sentosa saw a fierce battle between 11 regions, which culminated with the Thai team Attack All Around taking the top spot
  • MENA teams recount the challenges faced during the finals

Morocco, xx May 2022 – Following two weeks of intense competition, Attack All Around from Thailand was crowned the champion of the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2022 Sentosa Finals. The winners took home the highly coveted World Series title along with US$500,000 in prize money. This marks a second consecutive victory for Thailand, where Team EVOS Phoenix, previously known as Phoenix Force, was the winner of the FFWS 2021 Singapore last year.

Representing the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region were teams All-Stars and WASK where despite not being able to claim the trophy nor a podium finish described their qualification an incredible learning experience and have outlined their ambitions to qualify for the next FFWS.

All-Stars: A strategy to win

The key to winning is psychological preparation – this is what MENA team All-Stars have said, citing the various challenges the team has faced leading to the finals. “It was more challenging for the team this time around as we needed to conquer the play-ins to proceed. Compared that to last year where we headed straight to the finals,” the team said.

The mounting pressure brought about by the competition affected All-Stars’ strategic approach and they only fell short of a spot in the finals. Not all is lost, as the team is already preparing for their next tournament, where they can have enough time to train for next year’s FFWS.

WASK: A challenging yet rewarding experience

MENA team WASK, the champions of Season Four and Five of the Free Fire Arab League (FFAL), expressed their excitement in participating in the FFWS in Sentosa. “Our participation was a test for the team on the global stage,” team WASK said. “This experience was unique because it was the first time we participated in a competition that brought together all the teams under one roof, with 15 days of preparations in a place far from our homes,” they added.

It was a one-of-a-kind experience for team WASK, where they competed alongside the most internationally recognized and distinguished teams from around the world, each exhibiting their own unique approaches to the competition whilst maintaining a high-level of professionalism and discipline

The Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2022 Sentosa Finals was broadcast live. A replay of the tournament can be watched on Free Fire’s official YouTube, Main Facebook, Esports Facebook, and Booyah! TV channels.
