Member of Parliament questions the Moroccan government on the issue of Schengen visas

Najwa Koukouss, member of the parliamentary group of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), in the House of Representatives, sent a written question to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Resident Abroad concerning the enormous difficulties encountered in obtaining visas to travel to certain European countries.

While ensuring the existence of real and numerous obstacles encountered to obtain this famous “sesame”, necessary to go legally on the other side of the Mediterranean, the parliamentarian of the Tractor party stressed the difficulties of obtaining an appointment, as well as the long delays to have an answer to their visa applications. The answer, said Najwa Koukouss is usually a refusal, that is to say a dry refusal, without any explanation, after so many trips, loss of time and loss of expenses incurred.

For all the above-mentioned inconveniences, the PAMist deputy called on the ministry to take the necessary measures so that Moroccan nationals can obtain visas for certain European countries in better and dignified conditions.

It should also be noted that on July 10, Morocco launched the “eVisa” electronic visa procedure via the www.acces-maroc.ma platform, to facilitate the granting of visas to foreign nationals subject to this formality.
