Murder of a Spanish woman in Marrakech: a 29-year-old man arrested 

The elements of the police headquarters in Marrakech have proceeded, this Tuesday, in close coordination with the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), to the arrest of an individual aged 29 years, for his alleged involvement in a case of voluntary manslaughter associated with the theft of a foreign national.

According to the initial investigation, the accused, who had multiple criminal records in cases of theft and was under the influence of alcohol, took advantage of the non-closure of the outer door of the apartment of the victim, a Spanish national of 90 years, established in Morocco, to infiltrate his home, said a statement from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

The suspect physically assaulted the victim, causing his death, before taking a television set, kitchen equipment and clothing, it says.

The research and investigations conducted by the police and the DGST allowed the arrest of the accused in a short time after his crime, adds the same source, noting that the searches have resulted in the seizure and return of stolen objects.

The accused was placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office to clarify the ins and outs of this crime, concludes the statement.
