At the end of July, Morocco’s airports continue to show largely positive recovery rates compared to the same period of 2019, hosting 70% of passengers and 75% of airport movements, said the Office in a statement.
Regarding the cumulative air traffic during the first seven months of 2022, Casablanca Mohammed V airport has welcomed 3,699,215 passengers via 34,742 flights, or recovery rates of about 64% and 67% respectively.
During the month of July 2022, most airports have reached or exceeded the volume of air passenger traffic recorded during the same period of 2019.
According to the Office, the recovery is consolidated during the first seven months for the airports of the North and Oriental regions which have recorded recovery rates greater than or equal to 100% compared to the same period of 2019 (Tetouan: 378%, Oujda: 111%, Nador: 101%, Tangier: 95%).
For the cumulative international traffic during the first seven months of 2022, the Kingdom’s airports have received 8,703,885 passengers, a recovery rate of 70% compared to the same period of 2019.
During the month of July, international air traffic recorded 2,142,893 passengers, a recovery rate of about 101% compared to the same period of 2019.
The Kingdom’s airports have recorded, during the month of July 2022, a volume of commercial traffic of 2,365,929 passengers and 18,912 flights, a recovery rate compared to the same period of 2019 of 98% for passengers and 94% for airport movements, notes the Office.
For its part, the air cargo recorded during the month of July, a recovery rate of 68% compared to the same period of 2019. It was established at 5,323 tons.
For the cumulative cargo from January to the end of July, it was posted at 41,637 tons, a recovery rate of 74%.
