Casablanca: Lydec launches an awareness campaign

Faced with the water shortage that the Kingdom is experiencing, Casablanca could not escape this water stress. The actors of the metropolis are therefore working to remedy the situation and find solutions. After instructions from the City Council to prohibit the waste of water (watering with drinking water, washing vehicles …), the delegate of the distribution of drinking water and electricity in Casablanca, Lydec, has entered the line in the face of declining reserves available calling on the general public to rationalize water use.

“While assuring customers and residents of Greater Casablanca of its mobilization to limit the impacts of water shortage, Lydec continues its efforts to deliver daily water and electricity distribution services, liquid sanitation and public lighting in the best conditions,” reads a statement.

Lydec explained that in this period of drought and due to the critical water situation in the water basins supplying the region of Casablanca-Settat, it continues to implement the action plan presented to the authorities last March, including operations to optimize the water pressure on the network, day and night.

In this exceptional context of declining resources, Lydec stressed that it is more urgent than ever to continue rationalizing water consumption.
