The second edition of the Annual Congress of the Moroccan Association of Medical Oncology of the Liberal Sector (OMM), will take place on November 18 and 19 in Marrakech, under the theme “Precision Medicine in Medical Oncology”.
This event will focus on the latest innovations in oncology from the point of view of the pathologist, medical oncologist, radiotherapist and surgeon, with the integration of these diagnostic and therapeutic advances in daily practice: genomic sequencing, CDK 4/6 inhibitors, immunotherapy, anti-PARP …, explain the organizers in a statement.
“After the resounding success of the first edition of the congress, it is our duty to innovate, move forward and continue to improve,” say the organizers, noting that this annual meeting is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience between national and international experts. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss the latest recommendations, with a detailed focus on technological developments in this area.
On the menu of this Congress are a number of conferences, training workshops for doctors, students and for the first time also for patients, in addition to a session dedicated to the exchange between professionals and patients around the care pathway and the diagnostic announcement.
The debates during this Conclave will focus on various topics related to “metastatic breast cancer RH+ HER2-: 1st line and beyond”, “lung cancer and immunotherapy”, “prostate cancer”, “localized breast cancer/therapeutic adaptation”, “metastatic breast cancer/therapeutic optimization” and “controversies in oncology: rectal cancer/TNT: Total Neoadjuvant Treatment” and “the patient at the heart of the care pathway”.
It should be noted that the OMM is part of the governmental initiative of the “Cancer Plan” aiming at improving the management and access to care of the patient in Morocco.
