Represented by Ithmar Capital: Morocco chairs annual SWF summit in Azerbaijan

Morocco chaired the 14th annual summit of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF), which ended on November 16 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Kingdom was indeed represented by Ithmar Capital, a strategic investment fund to support the economic development of Morocco. The two-day event focused on mobilizing capital for change. “Since its election as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IFSWF in November 2021, Ithmar Capital brings a new impetus to the Organization,” said a statement from Ithmar Capital.

He added that “the IFSWF is experiencing a significant dynamic of affiliation and in particular with African sovereign wealth funds that adhere to the principles of Santiago and strengthen their good governance. It should be noted that eight sovereign funds joined the Organization this year. Among them, five African SWFs including the Sovereign Fund of Egypt and the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund as members, the Ethiopian Investment Holdings, the Sovereign Fund of Djibouti and the Mauritius Investment Corporation as associate members.
