The Festival Visa for Music returns for a ninth edition that promises to be special thanks to the participation of a fine lineup of artists and some 1,200 professionals in the field of culture and music, revealed the founding director of the festival, Brahim El Mazned, at the launch of this new edition.
El Mazned said that “this edition will be rich, given its diverse programming, focused on more than 35 musical concerts, 8 conferences, several workshops for young people in order to strengthen their skills, as well as multiple opportunities for exchange with professionals.
The founding director of Visa for Music also returned to the professional aspect of this event, opening the door to talent from Africa and the Middle East to gain exposure and advance their careers, thanks in particular to the many networking opportunities that the festival offers.
For his part, the president of the Hiba
Foundation, partner of the festival, Younes Boumehdi, welcomed the resumption of this cultural event and promised multiple surprises to the audience.
The founding director of the festival also stressed that the gender approach was and will always be at the heart of the festival’s concerns both at the level of programming and sponsored projects.
The opening night, held Wednesday evening at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat, began with an opening speech and three concerts, with a remarkable performance by Fanie Fayar, beautiful voice directly from the banks of the Congo River, gold medalist in the song at the 8th games of the Francophonie, Abidjan-2017.
On this occasion, the artist expressed his joy to participate for the first time in this edition very high. She said: “It is a real honor for me to sing, for the first time, in front of this great Moroccan
audience.
Then there was Demi Portion, whose real name is Rachid, talented artist, defender of a hip-hop of sharing and transmission, and then the Moroccan artist Farid Ghannam, confirmed musician who will be accompanied by the group the Cosmic Carnival.
A concert of Rokia Bamba from Belgium was scheduled at 00:30 at the Dome Tazi Palace to close the evening in beauty.
It should be recalled that this major international event dedicated to music from Africa and the Middle East is organized this year from November 16 to 19 as part of the celebration of “Rabat African Capital of Culture”.
