Settat: more than 30 victims of food poisoning

Thirty people were admitted Wednesday to the emergency department of the Hassan II hospital in Settat for food poisoning, after eating a suspicious meal at the souk Tlat Loulad.

According to information available to the Moroccan press, the incident prompted the local authorities and elements of the Royal Gendarmerie to go to the scene. In total, 33 people were victims of poisoning, three are in serious condition.

The first elements of the investigation indicate that the victims would have consumed fish in the said souk. The competent Prosecutor General’s Office ordered the opening of a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.
