Fez / Handicrafts: Moroccan-Chinese traveling exhibition

A traveling exhibition of Moroccan and Chinese handicrafts is currently organized at the Training Center and qualification of the craft in Fez. The exhibition is organized at the initiative of the Chamber of Crafts of the region Fez-Meknes, the Chinese Cultural Center in Rabat, the Regional Directorate of Handicrafts and Social Economy and Solidarity, and the Training Center and qualification of the craft Fez. The exhibition, held from 19 to 24 November, aims to present the skills and creative abilities of artisans from Morocco and China, and to further promote the products of the craft industry of both countries.

This event, which began in Meknes before making a stopover in Fez to then go to Marrakech, is an opportunity to exchange experiences and expertise in this promising sector, with the aim of building a strong and deep partnership in the field of crafts between the Kingdom of Morocco and the People’s Republic of China.

The President of the Chamber of Crafts of the region Fez-Meknes, Abdelmalek Al-Boutiyine said that this exhibition is part of a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy and Solidarity, the Chamber and the Foundation Mohammed V for Solidarity, to increase trade and experience in the handicrafts sector between Morocco and China. He added that the exhibition is an opportunity for visitors to know a number of pieces and products of the Chinese craft industry that have great historical value, as well as highlighting the richness and diversity of the products of Moroccan crafts.

For his part, the regional director of the craft in Fez, Abderrahim Belkhayat, said the event is part of strengthening cooperation relations between Morocco and the People’s Republic of China, especially in the field of crafts.

For his part, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Morocco, Li Changlin welcomed the cultural heritage of the craft in the scientific and spiritual capital of Morocco, emphasizing the position that occupies the craft in China and Morocco, as a sector that provides jobs.
