Morocco-World Cup: An investigation opened on suspicion of resale of tickets

The National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) has been tasked with investigating the case. The scandal arose from an audio recording that had circulated on social networks, showing a negotiation between a Moroccan fan and Mohammed El Hidaoui, a businessman and member of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party, as referred to by his name by the fan. The latter was discussing the price of two match tickets for a total amount of Dhs 12,000.

The King’s prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca has given instructions to open an investigation into “suspicions of resale” of these tickets on the black market.

It should be noted in this regard that the Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) referred Mohammed El Haidaoui, also president of the Olympique de Safi, before the Disciplinary Commission of the region of Marrakech-Safi.

The Political Bureau of the party has expressed itself on this matter, through a statement announcing “the presentation of the president of the Olympique Club of Safi, Mohammed El Hidaoui, before the Regional Disciplinary Commission, in accordance with the provisions of Article 32 of the party statute, to investigate the case with the person concerned.

As a reminder, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) had reported the distribution of 13,000 tickets for the match between the Atlas Lions to France, for the semi-final of the World Cup in Qatar. However, several Moroccan fans and influencers said that many of the tickets did not reach their recipients.
