Hungary offers new scholarships to 165 Moroccan students

The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui, on a visit to Budapest, and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjarto, sealed on Monday, January 30, a memorandum of understanding to support student mobility.

This memorandum of understanding, signed as part of the scholarship program “Stipendium Hungaricum” for the period 2023-2025, will allow 165 Moroccan students to benefit each year from a scholarship in Hungarian universities, said a statement from the Ministry.

This number of students is added, thus, to a total of 771 others who have received scholarships in Hungary since the launch of this program in 2015.

In another register, the two sides reported the positive outcome of the call for joint projects, launched in 2012 which allowed the funding of 6 projects in areas related to climate change, energy and development of natural resources.

According to the same source, the two partners are also about to launch the 2ème Morocco-Hungary Academic and Scientific Forum, next March 20 and 21 in the Kingdom, which will strengthen cooperation in the field of education and research.

As a reminder, Abdellatif Miraoui, accompanied by a delegation composed of presidents of universities and senior officials of the central administration, is on a working visit to Budapest, from January 30 to 31. The objective is to discuss issues related in particular to the positive balance of bilateral cooperation in higher education, scientific research and innovation, and examine ways to strengthen it, especially in joint priority areas.
