Morocco-Spain: 19 billion euros of trade

These exchanges continue on their positive momentum, taking advantage of the new serene climate that has settled in the relations between the two countries, following the favorable position adopted by Spain on the Moroccan Sahara issue.

For the first time, in 2022, Spanish exports to the Kingdom exceeded 10 billion (10.839 billion), an increase of 12.72% compared to the previous year, and 28.2% (2.385 billion) compared to 2019, the last year before the pandemic.

On the other hand, imports from Morocco have risen sharply from 6.962 billion in 2019 to 8.096 billion in 2022, an increase of 16%.

In total, Spanish exports to Morocco have increased by 2,385 million euros in the last two years, while imports have grown by 1,134 million. The trade balance, which was already favorable to Spain, has become even more pronounced: if in 2019, Spain exported 21.4% more than it imported from Morocco, this proportion has increased to 33.8% .

In addition, exports from the Iberian country to the Kingdom have remained on the rise despite fluctuations, with increases ranging from a maximum of 41.6% in April to a minimum of 12.1% in March.
