Fez: 1st edition of Startup Challenge to encourage entrepreneurship

The first edition of the event Fez Startup Challenge, designed to support young entrepreneurs in the region Fez-Meknes, was held Saturday in Fez. This event, organized by IncuBooster in collaboration with the OFPPT of the region Fez-Meknes, has allowed 30 start-ups to present their projects before a jury of professionals and investors.

The incubator, which is based in Fez, wants to be part of the entrepreneurial dynamics of the city and its region by capitalizing on the creativity and potential of local youth.
 As such, it launched a call for applications that attracted the interest of 55 project leaders, of which 30 were selected to participate in the incubation.
 The final phase of the competition saw the participation of 12 projects, some of which have already seen the light of day thanks to the incubator’s support. Indeed, some project leaders were able to materialize their ideas by creating their own company.

In a statement to M24, the news channel of MAP, the regional director of the Office of Vocational Training and Promotion of Work (OFPPT) in Fez-Meknes, Abdelhakim Hadafi, stressed that this event aims to promote entrepreneurship by organizing a competition between project holders to support them in creating their businesses.

In general, each year, the institutions of the OFPPT in the region participate in the creation of more than 50 companies through the support of young entrepreneurs, he said. In a similar statement, Khnata El Kadiri, co-founder of IncuBooster, stressed that the mission of the incubator is to accompany entrepreneurs and project holders to develop and succeed in a competitive market.
