Almost 29,000 psychotropic tablets seized in Fez and Tangier

In Fez, no fewer than 3,330 psychotropic tablets, including 2,580 medical tablets and 750 ecstasy, were seized from a 19-year-old woman on Saturday June 24 by members of the anti-gang squad attached to the city’s security prefecture, according to a judicial source, who added that the case was solved following information provided by officers from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance.
Forty-eight hours earlier, on Thursday June 22, a quantity of 25,200 psychotropic tablets was seized at the port of Tangier-Med. The drugs were concealed inside a Moroccan-registered road tractor coming from Spain on board a ferry. Its driver, a 53-year-old man, was arrested by Tangier-Med port police.
