From August 14 to 21, the Marrakech-Safi Regional Department of Culture is organizing a series of cultural and artistic activities in several of the region’s provinces, to mark the 44th anniversary of the recovery of Oued Eddahab, the 70th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, and the 60th anniversary of the Fête de la Jeunesse.
Initiated under the theme “Celebrating the symbiosis between the Glorious Alaouite Throne and the People”, this event features a rich and varied program designed to consecrate the values of patriotism, which marked these landmark events in Morocco’s history, and to highlight the indefectible links uniting the Moroccan people and the Glorious Alaouite Throne, says a press release from the Regional Directorate of Culture.
The activities will take place at the Provincial Directorates of Culture in Essaouira and Safi, the Palais Badii Conservatory and the Palais Bahia Conservatory in Marrakech, as well as at Dar Attakafa in Kelaâ des Sraghna, the release said.
These activities include 7 artistic evenings dedicated to patriotic songs and folk rhythms, 4 scientific conferences addressing the historical and political dimensions of these 3 national holidays, in addition to 7 photo and plastic art exhibitions on the key events that marked the national struggle process and the completion of territorial integrity, as well as a morning dedicated to children, an evening dedicated to zajjal and poetry and the screening of a documentary entitled “an unforgettable event”.
The press release recalls that these national holidays represent landmark moments in the national struggle waged in perfect symbiosis between the Glorious Alaouite Throne and the Moroccan people, starting with the recovery of independence under the leadership of the late HM Mohammed V, the completion of territorial integrity and the building of modern Morocco under the leadership of the late HM King Hassan II, and the inauguration of the phase of modern and advanced Morocco under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
