Rabat-Salé airport: 553,697 passengers in the first half of 2023

Rabat-Salé airport maintained its effervescent pace, welcoming an impressive number of passengers in the first half of 2023. Data provided by the Office National des Aéroports (ONDA) revealed a commercial traffic volume of 553,697 passengers.

The 553,697 passengers recorded in the first half of 2023 at Rabat-Salé airport mark an impressive renaissance. Compared with the same period in 2019, when a total of 527,771 passengers were recorded, this translates into a recovery rate of 105%, as revealed in the latest ONDA report on commercial air traffic.

The month of June also contributed to this surge, with 97,320 passengers passing through the doors of this airport hub. Juxtaposing this figure with the 91,189 passengers for June 2019, a recovery rate of 107% emerges, a sign that Rabat-Salé airport has become a crossroads in full movement.

These positive results are mirrored on a national scale, where the Kingdom’s airports recorded an impressive record of 12,197,957 passengers handled in the first half of the current year, marking an increase of 5%.

By way of example, some 13,662 passengers passed through Guelmim airport over the same period, representing a passenger recovery rate of 262% compared with the same period in 2019 (5,218 passengers).

As for domestic traffic, the figures speak for themselves: a total of 1,166,657 passengers were handled in the first half of 2023, with a recovery rate of around 83% compared with the first six months of 2019.
