3rd DDS WORLD CONGRESS, ARTIFICIAL AND HUMAN INTELLIGENCE IN MODERN DENTISTRY

The 3rd world congress of the Digital Dentistry Society is being held in Casablanca from 12 to 14 October 2023. The world’s largest scientific event on digital dentistry will bring together leading clinical experts and researchers to discuss the most innovative digital technologies and established clinical procedures.

Digitalisation is one of the main levers promoted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to accelerate development. In his speech on 21 March 2018 to the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) on the Continental Free Trade Area, the sovereign stated that “the development of the African continent and its trade should also take into account global technological developments and transform the deficit in our intra-continental trade into a real opportunity for the development of new digital technologies“.

More than 70 international speakers present the latest findings in digital dental technology. Participants have been asked to carry out a comprehensive 3-day analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence on the six main areas of dentistry: implantology, prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics and maxillofacial surgery.

“This event offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of digital dental innovation. Morocco is delighted to welcome world-renowned experts to discuss the latest developments in digital dentistry. This is a real opportunity for all the participants, who have come from every continent,” says Professor Jaâfar Mouhyi, President of the Digital Dentistry Society.

Morocco can pride itself on chairing, in the person of Professor Mouhyi, the most prestigious international society for digital dentistry, which has 16,000 members from 52 countries. The DDS has an ambassador in each country, and the Moroccan ambassador is Dr Rachid Bakal, accompanied by Dr Najwa Bouzoubaa and Dr Salim Fada. It is thanks to Professor Mouhyi’s presidency that the 3rd edition of this world congress is being held in Casablanca, to the great benefit of the profession.

“We share His Majesty’s vision and are committed to implementing modern solutions to improve access to dental healthcare. This congress represents a crucial step towards that goal, and I call on all dental professionals to embrace this vision and play an active part in improving the services offered to citizens, not only in Morocco but throughout the world, by taking advantage of the advances in artificial intelligence and the dazzling technological advances in this field“, adds Professor Mouhyi.

In Morocco, the aim is to bring the profession up to standard by working with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation on teaching digital dentistry to students of dentistry in Morocco, but also to participate through DDS Morocco in modernising the practice of dentistry and bringing it up to the highest international standards.

Researchers, professors and world leaders in the development and production of digital dentistry equipment will be giving lectures, workshops and training sessions on the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, as well as the use of 3D printers to produce implants, prostheses, etc.

It’s a whole world of innovation that takes us into a future in which dentistry becomes an exact art, governed by processes and tools managed by powerful computers that, among other things, make it possible to visualise the expected results of a procedure before it begins.

The DDS World Congress offers a unique opportunity for dental professionals to share their knowledge, discover the latest technological advances and contribute to the improvement of dental care worldwide.
