At a press conference with his Spanish counterpart, José Manuel Albares, Bourita stressed that technical meetings between the two countries are planned to speed up the opening of the crossings, and expressed the hope that technical solutions will be found quickly.
Bourita highlighted the considerable progress made in facilitating the movement of goods and people at the border crossings, confirming that all the commitments of the roadmap signed in April will be fully respected. He noted that meetings of the border crossing facilitation team had taken place, with practical trials to identify areas for improvement.
The Minister stressed the importance of positive cooperation and shared commitment to ensure the implementation of all agreed commitments. He insisted on the adoption of a new model that differs from the old one, avoiding undesirable practices and smuggling.
Bourita called for a rapid meeting of the technical team to work out a new concept guaranteeing the efficiency of the crossing and meeting the aspirations of both countries.
