Last night, a huge celebration was held in Florida in memory of Sidna Baba Sali, Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzira Zi’a, whose 40th anniversary of death is today.
The revelry was presided over by Baba Sali Zi’a’s grandson, Rebbe Rabbi Josiah Pinto, in Miami, Florida, with the participation of rabbis, businessmen and a large audience.
Rabbi Pinto went on to talk about the miracles and wonders performed by Baba Sali Zi’a, explaining that the spiritual power of the righteous man came from his great holiness and toil in the Torah.
From an early age, Baba Sali devoted his life to Torah and holiness, did not enjoy this world at all, and contemplated studying long hours a day.
